New construction is happening in Lower Bucks County

A rumor no more. New construction begins on luxury apartments at Oxford Valley Mall in Middletown Township.

How surprised I was when I drove to the Oxford Valley Mall.  Construction has started. Clearing for 1st of 2 luxury apartment buildings have begun.  This is the beginning of a 2 year plan, for 600 plus, luxury apartments. Located at the former Wanamaker’s/Strawbridge’s/Boscov’s site at the mall in Middletown Township.

New Construction

The first apartment building will have 391 apartments. The second will have 223, according to the developer’s website.  The buildings will be four stories.

The buildings will feature a parking garage for residents. There are a number of amenities planned. There will be 8 acres of green spaces and a large central green area for residents and the public. The swimming pools, and fitness centers will be an added attraction.  The developer will included about a mile of sidewalks. This will  interconnect the development to the mall and surrounding area.  The vast majority of residence are expected to attract the young professionals or older adults.

How nice it will be to see the vacant space used again.  After such a long period of time without occupancy.  Another bonus is additional tax revenue for the township and Neshaminy School District.
